Military Insurance - Alcohol and Drug Rehab Facilities - Washington, PA.

The military currently uses a military insurance known as Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families receive health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard offers insurance benefits for retirees of the military who are 60 years of age or older and their qualified family members. With Tricare Standard they go to any civilian health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay an annual deductible and coinsurance, as well as any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is available to Tricare Standard beneficiaries which provides access to non-military health care providers within their provider network, with a discounted coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is available to all active-duty members, retirees, and all qualified family members, and with this they can select a primary doctor and get referrals to health care services that provide specialty care.

By way of TRICARE, members of the military can receive substance abuse rehabilitation services in Washington. This encompasses individual and group therapy including family therapy, detoxification, and other various rehabilitation services. They will need pre-authorization for treatment and there will most likely be some limitations. Military insurance pays for both outpatient and inpatient, but inpatient services for detox are limited to no more than 7 days. Partial hospitalization or impatient treatment following detox will only be authorized if it is an approved facility, and there are time limits as to how long military insurance carriers will be permitted to stay in treatment. A 3-week inpatient stay per benefit period is typically permitted. In additional to this, there are 60 group therapy sessions and 15 family therapy sessions covered per benefit period, which are done on an outpatient basis. Family therapy is covered one after the active military member has completed prior rehabilitation services such as inpatient or outpatient treatment.
