When an individual in Narragansett needs drug or alcohol rehab and doesn't have health insurance or the money to pay for the rehab program in full, the Access to Recovery Voucher is an alternative to consider. ATR is a federally-funded program which provides the means for individuals to access addiction treatment programs and support including inpatient, intensive outpatient, regular outpatient, counseling, continuing care, life coaching and recovery support, skills building, vocational training, and transportation assistance. The ATR grant program allows those individuals with vouchers to purchase treatment and recovery support services for drug abuse disorders at the provider of their choice. To be eligible for ATR individuals must fulfill certain requirements, including: 1) be at least 18 years of age, 2) have a history of substance use or abuse, 3) have an annual income that is less than 200% of the Federal poverty level, and 4) reside in the counties or jurisdictions that provide ATR.
