The military currently uses a military insurance called Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families obtain health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard offers insurance benefits for retired military who are 60 years of age or older and their eligible family members. With Tricare Standard they receive services from any civilian health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay an annual deductible and coinsurance, as well as any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is an option available to Tricare Standard beneficiaries which allows access to non-military health care professionals within their provider network, with a reduced coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is available to all active-duty members, retirees, and all eligible family members, and with this they can choose a primary care physician and get referrals to health care services that provide specialty care.
By way of TRICARE, members of the military can obtain substance abuse rehabilitation services in Camden. This includes individual and group therapy including family therapy, detoxification, and other recovery services. They will require pre-authorization for services and there are likely to be some limitations. Military insurance covers both inpatient and outpatient, but stays for detoxification are restricted to no more than 7 days.
