Medicare is a federal program that helps pay for medical healthcare services for individuals living in the Unites States who are either disabled or 65 years of age or older. For individuals that do have Medicare and require drug or alcohol treatment in Fort Mill, this program will cover certain treatment programs and treatment services. Medicare consists of different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering different types of treatment.

Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A pays for inpatient addiction treatment, and up to 60 days in rehab without a co-pay but policy holders will have to pay a deductible. Medicare only pays for a total of 190 days of inpatient care, as in during the person's lifetime.

Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an option for people who want supplemental coverage apart from what the other parts of Medicare have to offer. People who have Part C can have more options available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D covers drug and alcohol addiction medications. Including medications needed for drug and alcohol withdrawal as well as medications required for maintenance therapy such as buprenorphine or methadone.
