It too is taken on a daily basis, and is priced around $450 monthly. Naltrexone is an additional medication used in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other drugs aforementioned it's an opiate blocker and isn't an opioid. A person has the choice to take this medication as a monthly shot, which is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, the drug prevents someone from feeling high from opioids, and therefore lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily shot costs anywhere from $1000 to $1200 per month.
