Outpatient Methadone Buprenorphine or Vivitrol - Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Facilities - Little Rock, SC.

One of the outpatient treatment alternatives for people in Little Rock who are struggling with opioid abuse and addiction is opioid maintenance therapy. Some centers and doctors are authorized to administer specific medications to opioid dependent clients, many of which are opioid-based themselves and are addiction. In low doses the user doesn't experience being high but also doesn't experience intense cravings and isn't experiencing opioid withdrawal. Methadone is the first med tried for this sole purpose, but there are a few more options currently to select from.

Methadone is an opiate and is meant to be taken at an out-patient medical center certified to dispense the med, which is taken daily as a pill or liquid. The price of the drug is around $150 per month. Buprenorphine is also an opioid-based drug, and is a pill often taken every other day. But different from Methadone that can only be administered in well-regulated medical centers, Buprenorphine can be prescribed and dispensed in doctor's offices. The cost monthly of buprenorphine is approximately three hundred dollars /month for the generic of the medication. There is also a type of buprenorphine that contains the ingredient naloxone, that is a med which reverses the effects of opioids. A person consuming this version of the drug, also known as Suboxone, would find it more difficult to feel high from opioids if they relapsed while taking the drug. It is also taken every day, and is priced around $450 a month. Naltrexone is another medication taken in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other drugs mentioned it's an opioid blocker and is not an opioid. A person has the choice to take this drug as a monthly shot, and that is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, the drug prevents someone from experience high feelings from opioids, and in turn lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily shot costs in the range of $1000 to $1200 monthly.
