Individual sessions will occur at least once a week, and group sessions can add the peer support that is essential for long term recovery. In intensive outpatient treatment, clients work on building relapse prevention skills, managing every day stresses and vulnerabilities, and how to manage any discomforts and drug cravings. Some intensive outpatient rehab centers offer family and couples/marriage counseling into the treatment process, which can be beneficial for people who need to repair their lives with their loved ones and family members.
