Partial hospitalization/Day Treatment is a type of outpatient addiction rehabilitation program that is just below intensive outpatient and more intensive than normal outpatient rehabilitation. Partial Hospitalization Day Treatment is also designed to help individuals who require intense treatment for a dual-diagnosis disorder, but don't require 24 hour intervention and care. For a client who has completed inpatient treatment, a partial hospitalization day treatment program in Bison could help them transition more easily into a drug-free lifestyle as a viable "step-down" option. Following partial hospitalization day treatment, the person could then phase into regular out-patient treatment.
When a client is in a partial hospitalization day treatment program, they commonly participate in services in the range of three to five days per week. It is very much like an in-patient program in many important ways, including the fact that clients will get access tonurses, physicians, and mental health professionals who can deal with the psychological, emotional, and physical issues they are trying to overcome. For at least four to six hours on the days that individuals attend partial hospitalization day treatment, they will get one-on-one addiction therapy, attend group counseling sessions, psychotherapy sessions, get any necessary medical care and address any of the mental health issues that trigger their alcohol and drug addiction.
