The military currently uses a military insurance called Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families obtain health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard provides benefits for retired military who are 60 years of age or older and their qualified family members. With Tricare Standard they have access to any non-military health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay yearly deductible and coinsurance, along with any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is available for Tricare Standard beneficiaries which allows access to non-military health care professionals within their provider network, with a reduced coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is available to all active-duty members, retirees, and all qualified family members, and with this they can pick a primary care physician and get referrals to health care services that provide specialty care.
By way of TRICARE, military members can obtain substance abuse rehabilitation services in Springfield. This includes individual and group therapy including family therapy, detoxification, and other various recovery services. They will need pre-authorization for treatment and there are likely to be some restrictions.
