The military currently uses a military insurance called Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families receive health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard provides benefits for retired military who are 60 or older and their qualified family members. With Tricare Standard they have access to any civilian health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay an annual deductible and coinsurance, along with any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is an option available for Tricare Standard beneficiaries which grants access to non-military health care providers within their provider network, with a reduced coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is available to all active-duty members, retirees, and all eligible family members, and with this they can select a primary doctor and get referrals to organizations that offer specialty care.
Through TRICARE, military members can acquire substance abuse treatment services in Waynesboro. This includes detoxification, individual and group therapy including family therapy, and other various treatment services. They will require pre-authorization for services and there are likely to be some limitations. Military insurance covers both outpatient and inpatient, but stays for detoxification are limited to no more than 7 days.
