Military Insurance - Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Centers - Dallas, TX.

The military currently uses a military insurance known as Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families obtain health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard offers insurance benefits for retirees of the military who are 60 or older and their qualified family members. With Tricare Standard they receive services from any civilian health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay yearly deductible and coinsurance, as well as any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is an option available for Tricare Standard beneficiaries which provides access to civilian health care providers within their provider network, with a reduced coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is available to all active-duty members, retirees, and all qualified family members, and with this they can choose a primary doctor and get referrals to organizations that offer specialty care.

Through TRICARE, members of the military can receive substance abuse treatment services in Dallas. This includes individual and group therapy including family therapy, detoxification, and other rehab services. They will need pre-authorization for treatment and there will most likely be some restrictions. Military insurance covers both outpatient and inpatient, but inpatient services for detox are restricted to 7 days. An inpatient or partial hospitalization following detox will only be authorized if it is a Tricare approved facility, and there are time restrictions as to how long military insurance carriers are allowed to remain in treatment. A 3-week inpatient stay per benefit period is typically accepted. Additionally, there are 15 family therapy sessions and 60 group therapy sessions covered per benefit period, which are done on an outpatient basis. Family therapy is covered one after the active military member has completed other primary treatment services such as inpatient or outpatient treatment.
