The military currently uses a military insurance called Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families receive health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard provides benefits for retired military who are 60 or older and their qualified family members. With Tricare Standard they receive services from any non-military health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay yearly deductible and coinsurance, as well as any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is an option available to Tricare Standard beneficiaries which provides access to civilian health care providers within their provider network, with a discounted coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is offered to all active-duty members, retirees, and all eligible family members, and with this they can choose a primary care physician and get referrals to organizations that offer specialty care.
By way of TRICARE, members of the military can obtain substance abuse rehabilitation services in Madisonville. This includes individual and group therapy including family therapy, detoxification, and other treatment services. They will need pre-authorization for services and there will most likely be some limitations. Military insurance pays for both outpatient and inpatient, but inpatient services for detox are limited to 7 days. Partial hospitalization or impatient treatment following detoxification will only be authorized if it is an approved facility, and there are time limits as to how long military insurance carriers are permitted to remain in rehab.
