Military Insurance - Drug and Alcohol Treatment Facilities - Sheridan, TX.

The military currently uses a military insurance called Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families obtain health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard provides insurance benefits for retirees of the military who are 60 years of age or older and their qualified family members. With Tricare Standard they go to any civilian health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay yearly deductible and coinsurance, along with any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is an option available to Tricare Standard beneficiaries which grants access to civilian health care professionals within their provider network, with a reduced coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is available to all active-duty members, retirees, and all qualified family members, and with this they can pick a primary care physician and obtain referrals to organizations that offer specialty care.

By way of TRICARE, military members can receive drug and alcohol treatment services in Sheridan. This includes individual and group therapy including family therapy, detoxification, and other rehabilitation services. They will require pre-authorization for services and there will most likely be some limitations. Military insurance pays for both inpatient and outpatient, but inpatient services for detoxification are limited to no more than 7 days. Partial hospitalization or impatient treatment following detox will only be authorized if it is a Tricare approved facility, and there are time limits as to how long military insurance carriers will be permitted to stay in rehab. A 3-week inpatient stay per benefit period is typically accepted. In additional to this, there are 60 group therapy sessions and 15 family therapy sessions covered per benefit period, which take place on an outpatient basis. Family therapy is covered one after the active military member has completed prior rehabilitation services such as inpatient or outpatient treatment.
