Medicare consists of different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering different kinds of treatment.

It also pays for professional interventions.

Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an alternative for individuals who want supplemental health insurance in addition to what the other parts of Medicare have to offer. Individuals who have Part C can have more insurance benefits available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for drug and alcohol addiction medications. Including medications associated with treating withdrawal symptoms during detoxification and medications required for maintenance therapy such as buprenorphine or methadone.
