Partial hospitalization/Day Treatment is a type of outpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation program which is less than intensive out-patient and more intensive than normal outpatient rehab. Partial Hospitalization Day Treatment is also designed to help clients who need intensive rehab for a dual-diagnosis disorder, but don't require twenty-four hour supervision and treatment. For a client who has finished inpatient rehabilitation, a partial hospitalization day treatment plan in Hudgins could be of help to them transition more easily into a sober lifestyle as a viable "step-down" option. Following partial hospitalization day treatment, the individual could then transition into regular outpatient treatment.
When a person is in a partial hospitalization day treatment center, they typically participate in services in the range of 3-5 days per week. It is very much like an in-patient program in many significant ways, including the fact that people will have access tomental health professionals, physicians and nurses who can deal with the physical, emotional and psychological challenges they are trying to conquer. For at least four to six hours on the days that people participate in partial hospitalization day treatment, the clients will get one-on-one addiction therapy, attend group counseling sessions, psychotherapy sessions, receive any necessary medical care and deal with any of the mental health symptoms that trigger their alcohol and drug addiction.
