Partial hospitalization/Day Treatment is a type of out-patient drug and alcohol treatment program which is less than intensive outpatient and more intensive than regular out-patient rehabilitation. Partial Hospitalization Day Treatment is also tailored to clients who need in-depth rehab for a co-occurring mental health disorder, but do not require 24 hour supervision and care. For a client who has finished inpatient rehabilitation, a partial hospitalization day treatment program in Pilot could help them make the transition more easily into a sober lifestyle as a viable "step-down" option. Following partial hospitalization day treatment, the client could then transition into regular outpatient treatment.
When a client is in a partial hospitalization day treatment facility, they typically take part in services in the range of 3-5 days per week. It is very much like an in-patient treatment program in many important ways, including the fact that people will have access tonurses, physicians, and mental health professionals who can address the psychological, emotional, and physical issues they are trying to conquer. For at least four to six hours on the days that people attend partial hospitalization day treatment, they will receive individual addiction therapy, attend group counseling sessions, psychotherapy sessions, receive any required medical care and deal with any of the mental health issues that are triggering their drug addiction.
