Partial hospitalization/Day Treatment is a type of out-patient substance abuse rehabilitation program which is less than intensive outpatient and more intensive than regular out-patient treatment. Partial Hospitalization Day Treatment is also designed to help individuals who may need intensive treatment for a co-occurring mental health disorder, but don't require 24 hour supervision and treatment. For a client who has completed inpatient treatment, a partial hospitalization day treatment program in Connell could help them make the transition more easily into a drug-free lifestyle as a "step-down" option. After partial hospitalization day treatment, the client could then transition into regular out-patient treatment.
When a client is in a partial hospitalization day treatment program, they commonly participate in services in the range of three to five days per week. It is similar to an inpatient program in many significant ways, including the fact that individuals will get access tonurses, physicians, and mental health professionals who can address the psychological, emotional, and physical issues they are trying to overcome. For at least four to six hours on the days that clients participate in partial hospitalization day treatment, the clients will receive one-on-one addiction therapy, attend group counseling sessions, psychotherapy sessions, get any needed medical care and address any of the mental health symptoms that trigger their drug addiction.
