Medicare consists of different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering various forms of care.

This includes outpatient care, therapy, treatment for co-occurring mental health disorders such as depression or anxiety and drugs dispensed by clinics. It also covers professional intervention services.

Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an alternative for people who want additional health insurance aside from what the other parts of Medicare have to offer. Individuals who have Part C may have more options available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for drug and alcohol addiction medications. Including medications needed for withdrawal symptoms during detoxification as well as those required for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
