Medicare - Drug and Alcohol Treatment Facilities - Seattle, WA.

Medicare is a federal health insurance program which helps pay for health care for individuals living in the U.S. who are either disabled or 65 and older. For people who do have Medicare and need substance abuse rehab in Seattle, Medicare will cover certain recovery programs and treatment services. Medicare comes in different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering different forms of care.

Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A covers inpatient drug and alcohol treatment, and up to 60 days in rehab without a co-pay but policy holders will be required to pay a deductible. Medicare only covers a total of 190 days of inpatient care, as in during the individual's lifetime.

Part B (Medical Insurance) ? Medicare Part B covers up to 80% of the costs associated with outpatient substance abuse treatment. This includes outpatient services, therapy/counseling, treatment for co-occurring disorders such as anxiety disorders or depression and medications administered by clinics. It also pays for professional intervention services.

Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an option for individuals who want additional coverage apart from what the other parts of Medicare have to offer. People who have Part C may have more options available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D covers substance abuse related medications. Including medications needed for withdrawal symptoms during detoxification and those required for maintenance therapy such as buprenorphine or methadone.
