It is also taken every day, and costs about $450 per month. Naltrexone is an additional drug taken in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other medications mentioned it's an opiate blocker and isn't an opiate. There is an option to take this drug as a monthly shot, and that is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, it prevents someone from experience being high from opioids, and therefore lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily injection costs in the range of $1000 to $1200 monthly.
