Partial hospitalization/Day Treatment is a type of outpatient addiction rehab program that is just below intensive out-patient and more intensive than normal outpatient rehabilitation. Partial Hospitalization Day Treatment is also designed to help clients who need intense rehab for a dual-diagnosis disorder, but do not require 24 hour supervision and care. For a person who has finished inpatient rehabilitation, a partial hospitalization day treatment plan in Ontario could be of help to them make the transition more easily into a sober lifestyle as a viable "step-down" option. After partial hospitalization day treatment, the client could then phase over to regular outpatient care.

When someone is in a partial hospitalization day treatment center, they typically participate in services in the range of three to five days per week.
