It is also taken daily, and is priced around $450 a month. Naltrexone is an additional medication used in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other drugs aforementioned it's an opioid blocker and is not an opiate. A person has the choice to take this drug as a monthly shot, which is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, the drug prevents an individual from feeling high from opioids, and therefore lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily shot costs in the range of $1000 to $1200 a month.
