There is also a version of buprenorphine that contains naloxone, which is a drug which blocks the effects of opiates. Someone consuming this version of the drug, AKA Suboxone, would find it more difficult to feel high from opioids if they relapsed while taking the drug. It is also taken every day, and is priced about $450 /month. Naltrexone is an additional med used in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other drugs mentioned here it's an opiate blocker and isn't an opioid. There is an option to take this drug as a monthly shot, and that is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, the drug prevents someone from feeling high from opioids, and therefore lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily injection costs anywhere from $1000 to $1200 per month.
