Partial hospitalization/Day Treatment is a type of outpatient substance abuse rehabilitation program which is less than intensive outpatient and more intensive than normal out-patient treatment. Partial Hospitalization Day Treatment is also designed to help people who require intensive rehab for a dual-diagnosis disorder, but do not require 24 hour intervention and treatment. For a client who has completed inpatient rehab, a partial hospitalization day treatment program in Whitehall could help them transition more easily into a drug-free way of life as a viable "step-down" option. Following partial hospitalization day treatment, the person could then phase over to regular out-patient care.
When a client is in a partial hospitalization day treatment center, they commonly participate in services anywhere from 3-5 days a week. It is like an inpatient treatment program in many significant ways, including the fact that clients will get access tomental health professionals, physicians and nurses who can deal with the physical, emotional and psychological challenges they are trying to overcome. For at least four to six hours on the days that people participate in partial hospitalization day treatment, the clients will receive personalized addiction therapy, attend group counseling sessions, psychotherapy sessions, receive any required medical care and address any of the mental health problems that trigger their alcohol and drug addiction.
