Partial hospitalization/Day Treatment is a type of outpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation program which is less than intensive outpatient and more intensive than regular out-patient treatment. Partial Hospitalization Day Treatment is also designed to help people who need intense rehabilitation for a dual-diagnosis disorder, but don't need 24 hour intervention and treatment. For someone who has finished inpatient rehabilitation, a partial hospitalization day treatment plan in Princeton could help them transition more easily into a drug-free lifestyle as a viable "step-down" option. Following partial hospitalization day treatment, the client could then phase over to regular outpatient treatment.
When a person is in a partial hospitalization day treatment facility, they typically participate in services anywhere from three to five days per week. It is similar to an in-patient program in many significant ways, including the fact that individuals will get access tonurses, physicians, and mental health professionals who can address the physical, emotional and psychological issues they are trying to overcome. For at least 4-6 hours on the days that individuals participate in partial hospitalization day treatment, they will receive one-on-one addiction therapy, psychotherapy services, participate in group counseling, get any required medical care and deal with any of the mental health problems that trigger their drug addiction.
