Medicare is a federal health insurance program that helps pay for health benefits for individuals living in the Unites States who are either disabled or 65 and older. Medicare consists of different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering certain kinds of medical care.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D covers drug and alcohol addiction medications. Including medications associated with treating withdrawal symptoms during detoxification as well as those used for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
