The military currently uses a military insurance called Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families receive health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard provides insurance benefits for retired military who are 60 years of age or older and their qualified family members. With Tricare Standard they receive services from any non-military health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay an annual deductible and coinsurance, in addition to any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is available for Tricare Standard beneficiaries which provides access to civilian health care providers within their provider network, with a discounted coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is offered to all active-duty members, retirees, and all eligible family members, and with this they can choose a primary doctor and get referrals to health care services that provide specialty care.
By way of TRICARE, members of the military can obtain substance abuse rehabilitation services in Oxford. This encompasses detoxification, individual and group therapy including family therapy, and other recovery services. They will need pre-authorization for treatment and there will most likely be some restrictions. Military insurance pays for both outpatient and inpatient, but inpatient services for detoxification are restricted to 7 days.
