Military Insurance - Alcohol and Drug Rehab Centers - Tuscaloosa, AL.

The military currently uses a military insurance known as Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families obtain health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard provides benefits for retirees of the military who are 60 or older and their qualified family members. With Tricare Standard they have access to any civilian health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay an annual deductible and coinsurance, in addition to any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is available to Tricare Standard beneficiaries which grants access to civilian health care providers within their provider network, with a reduced coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is available to all active-duty members, retirees, and all qualified family members, and with this they can choose a primary doctor and get referrals to organizations that provide specialty care.

By way of TRICARE, military members can receive drug and alcohol rehabilitation services in Tuscaloosa. This includes detoxification, individual and group therapy including family therapy, and other rehabilitation services. They will require pre-authorization for services and there are likely to be some limitations. Military insurance pays for both outpatient and inpatient, but inpatient services for detoxification are limited to no more than 7 days. Partial hospitalization or impatient treatment following detox will only be authorized if it is a Tricare approved facility, and there are time restrictions as to how long military members are permitted to stay in rehab. A 3-week inpatient stay per benefit period is typically accepted. In additional to this, there are 15 family therapy sessions and 60 group therapy sessions covered per benefit period, which take place on an outpatient basis. Family therapy is covered one after the active military member has finished other primary rehabilitation services such as inpatient or outpatient treatment.
