SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Programs - Winslow, AR.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of efforts to advance the behavioral health of the U.S.. One of its responsibilities is the supervision of opioid rehab facilities, which are centers which provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to people who are experiencing opioid dependency and addiction. Drug administered are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs which help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted people. SAMSHA certified opioid treatment programs in Winslow are programs which are legally allowed to give out the drugs used in MAT as long as they remain certified and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT individuals must also get ancillary benefits in addition to medicine such as counseling or behavioral therapy.

An opioid treatment program can get their basic certification while working towards becoming fully accredited, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehabilitation programs authorized by SAMSHA must be licensed by the state in which they operate. In addition, they must register with the Drug Enforcement Administration via a local DEA branch. Once an opioid rehabilitation center is certified, they need to get re-certified every year or every 3 years depending on the type of accreditation it has been granted.
