Military Insurance - Alcohol and Drug Treatment Programs - Winslow, AZ.

The armed forces currently uses a military insurance called Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families obtain health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard offers benefits for retired military who are 60 years of age or older and their qualified family members. With Tricare Standard they go to any non-military health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay an annual deductible and coinsurance, along with any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is available for Tricare Standard beneficiaries which grants access to non-military health care professionals within their provider network, with a discounted coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is available to all active-duty members, retirees, and all qualified family members, and with this they can select a primary care physician and get referrals to organizations that provide specialty care.

Through TRICARE, military members can receive substance abuse rehabilitation services in Winslow. This includes detoxification, individual and group therapy including family therapy, and other recovery services. They will need pre-authorization for services and there are likely to be some limitations. Military insurance pays for both inpatient and outpatient, but inpatient services for detox are restricted to no more than 7 days. An inpatient or partial hospitalization following detoxification will only be authorized if it is an approved facility, and there are time limits as to how long military members will be allowed to remain in rehab. A 3-week inpatient stay per benefit period is usually permitted. In additional to this, there are 60 group therapy sessions and 15 family therapy sessions covered per benefit period, which take place on an outpatient basis. Family therapy is covered one after the active military member has completed other primary rehabilitation services such as inpatient or outpatient treatment.
