Drug and alcohol treatment services are offered in a vast range of formats, so there is truly something for everyone in Death Valley. Treatment services can be done in both an outpatient and inpatient basis, where outpatient services range from 1 or 2 days of treatment per week to intensive outpatient treatment which is available daily. Outpatient treatment services range from individual counseling and group counseling, to more advanced psychotherapies to modify behavior and motivate clients to stay sober.
Inpatient and residential rehab is offered to those who struggle with more extensive histories of substance abuse, ranging from 30 day programs to 90 day programs. Some programs offer what is called a Therapeutic Community model, where clients may stay up to a year in certain situations. The longer the client stays in in treatment and benefits from services and a clean atmosphere, the higher their chances of remaining sober and being able stay that way without requiring that robust system of recovery and support. Services within an inpatient or residential drug rehab center are usually more diverse and will involve treatment for addiction but also include services for co-occurring mental health disorders. Aftercare and relapse prevention services are key even after long-term rehab, and many centers recommend continued participation in the program for several months until the individual has shifted into a drug free way of life.
