Medicaid is an insurance option for low-income households that because of the Affordable Care Act must provide insurance coverage for basic drug and alcohol rehabilitation services. Medicaid is currently the single largest payer for mental health services in the country, and is starting to play a significant role in the reimbursements of drug and alcohol rehabilitation services.
