Regular out-patient rehabilitation is usually a less costly alternative to more intensive outpatient options or inpatient recovery, and is the least intense of formal alcohol or drug rehabilitation available in Mission Viejo. Some clients are in rehab for the first time and have chosen regular outpatient because that is all they can afford and time commitment and scheduling because of school, work or other obligations. In some cases, regular outpatient is a downgrade from treatment in a more intense outpatient center such as a partial hospitalization or in-patient center.
Regular out-patient rehab services usually involve group and individual counseling services delivered once or twice a week. Centers that include a more diverse array of services may include psychotherapies (CBT) to help with relapse prevention and dual diagnosis services to help respond to co-occurring substance abuse and mental health disorders. The length of time a client stays in rehab can vary, and a client's progress can be assessed every now and then and an extension of rehab can be recommended based on these findings.
In some cases, a regular outpatient rehab facility is going to be insufficient in intensity for someone who is addressing a severe substance abuse issue and has not experienced recovery previously or has fallen off the wagon following previous outpatient rehab.
