Regular out-patient rehab is mostly a less costly alternative to more intensive outpatient options or inpatient recovery, and is the least intense of formal drug or alcohol rehab available in Tulare. Some people are in treatment for their first time and have chosen regular outpatient because that is all they can afford and time commitment and scheduling because of work, school or other obligations. In some cases, regular outpatient is a downgrade to service following treatment in a more intensive outpatient facility such as a partial hospitalization or inpatient facility.
Regular out-patient rehab services have group and individual counseling services delivered once or twice a week. Facilities which include a wider array of services may include psychotherapies (CBT) to help with relapse prevention and dual diagnosis services to help respond to co-occurring substance abuse and mental health issues. How long an individual remains in treatment can change from client to client, and a person's improvement can be judged occasionally and an extension of treatment can be suggested based on these findings.
In some cases, a regular outpatient recovery facility may be insufficient in intensity for a client who is attempting to address a bad substance abuse problem and has never gone to recovery before or has relapsed after prior outpatient rehab.
