When an individual in Arlington needs drug abuse treatment and doesn't have health insurance or the funds to pay for the rehab program in full, the Access to Recovery Voucher is an option to consider. ATR is a federally-funded plan which provides the means for qualified people to access addiction treatment programs and services including inpatient programs, intensive outpatient, regular outpatient, continuing care, counseling, life coaching and recovery support, vocational training, skills building, and transportation assistance. The ATR grant program allows those individuals with vouchers to acquire rehabilitation and recovery support services for addiction disorders at the provider of their choice. To be eligible for ATR clients must fulfill certain requirements, including: 1) must be 18 years or older, 2) have a history of substance use or abuse, 3) have a yearly income that is below 200% of the Federal poverty level, and 4) reside in the counties or jurisdictions that provide ATR.
Individuals interested in the Access to Recovery Voucher can contact ATR Service Coordinators in their area. If someone's original choice of program or rehab center isn't working out, they can consult with their coordinator to locate one that is and that accepts the ATR.
