The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of efforts to advance the behavioral health of the nation. One of its responsibilities is the administering of opioid treatment programs, which are programs that provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency.
