Medicare is a federal program that helps pay for medical healthcare services for people living in the U.S. who are either disabled or 65 and older. Medicare comes in different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering certain forms of medical care.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for substance abuse related medications. Including medications associated with treating withdrawal symptoms during detoxification and those required for maintenance therapy such as buprenorphine or methadone.
