SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Facilities - Eleele, HI.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for health efforts to promote the behavioral health of the United States. One of its obligations is the administering of opioid rehab programs, which are centers which offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Medicine administered are drugs like buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs that help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted individuals. SAMSHA certified opioid rehab programs in Eleele are programs which are officially allowed to distribute the medicines used in MAT as long as they maintain their certification and continue to meet certain requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also receive ancillary services in addition to medicine like psychotherapy, behavioral therapy or counseling.

An opioid treatment center can get their initial certification while they endeavor to get their full accreditation, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid rehab programs accredited by SAMSHA need to get licensed also by their own state. In addition, they must register with the Drug Enforcement Administration through a local DEA office. Once an opioid rehab center is certified, they need to get re-certified every year or every three years depending on the type of certification that was given.
