An individual taking this version of the drug, AKA Suboxone, would find it harder to get high from opioids if they relapsed while taking the drug. It is also taken daily, and costs around $450 per month. Naltrexone is another med used in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other drugs mentioned here it is an opiate blocker and is not an opiate. There is an option to take this medication as a monthly shot, and that is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, the drug prevents an individual from experience being high from opioids, and in turn lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily injection costs anywhere from $1000 to $1200 a month.
