Alcohol and drug abuse programs for Vets are central for the mental well-being and overall stability of Vets of all branches of the armed forces. Because drug and alcohol abuse and other mental health problems are experienced at above average rates among Veterans, it is important that Veterans get the assistance they need because of such high suicide rates also associated with these disorders among our Vets.
Substance abuse facilities for Vets in Lewis are available through the VA, with services that include programs to handle associated disorders such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, pain, disturbed sleep, irritability, and/or relationship problems which most commonly trigger substance abuse disorders among Vets. Rehabilitation for substance abuse and related disorders among Vets includes individual and group therapy and psychotherapies which can increase a person's desire to change.
