Partial hospitalization/Day Treatment is a type of out-patient drug and alcohol treatment program that is just below intensive outpatient and more intensive than regular outpatient rehab. Partial Hospitalization Day Treatment is also designed to help individuals who need intensive rehabilitation for a dual-diagnosis disorder, but don't require twenty-four hour supervision and care. For someone who has finished inpatient rehab, a partial hospitalization day treatment program in West Point could help them make the transition more easily into a sober way of life as a viable "step-down" option. Following partial hospitalization day treatment, the person could then phase over to regular out-patient care.
When someone is in a partial hospitalization day treatment program, they commonly take part in services in the range of 3-5 days per week. It is similar to an inpatient treatment program in many significant ways, including the fact that clients will get access tomental health professionals, physicians and nurses who can address the physical, emotional and psychological issues they are trying to overcome. For at least four to six hours on the days that individuals participate in partial hospitalization day treatment, the clients will receive individual addiction therapy, psychotherapy services, participate in group counseling, get any necessary medical care and deal with any of the mental health problems that trigger their drug addiction.
