It is estimated that around 75% of clients at residential treatment facilities for drug and alcohol addiction are smokers. While it is a fact that nicotine is addicting and people in rehab for addiction should strive to be abstinent from all addictive substances, this can introduce problems that make enforcing a smoking ban outweigh the advantages of such restrictions.
