Regular out-patient rehab is mostly a less costly alternative to more intensive outpatient options or inpatient rehabilitation, and is the least intense of formal substance abuse rehab available in Cherry Valley. Some people are in treatment for their first time and have chosen regular outpatient because that is all they can afford and time commitment and logistically because of work, school or other obligations. For some, regular outpatient is a downgrade from rehab in a more intense outpatient center such as a partial hospitalization or inpatient center.
Regular out-patient recovery services usually involve some kind of individual and group counseling services delivered once maybe twice per week. Programs that include a more diverse array of services may include counseling (behavioral therapy) to help with relapse prevention and dual-diagnosis services to help respond to co-occurring substance abuse and mental health disorders. The length of time someone remains involved in treatment can vary, and a person's improvement can be judged occasionally and more treatment can be recommended based on these evaluations.
In some cases, a regular outpatient rehab facility is going to be insufficient in intensity for an individual who is facing a bad drug and alcohol issue and has not gone to recovery previously or has fallen off the wagon following prior outpatient recovery.
