Military Insurance - Alcohol and Drug Rehab Facilities - Waukegan, IL.

The military currently uses a military insurance known as Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families receive health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard provides benefits for retired military who are 60 or older and their qualified family members. With Tricare Standard they receive services from any non-military health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay an annual deductible and coinsurance, in addition to any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is an option available to Tricare Standard beneficiaries which provides access to civilian health care providers within their provider network, with a reduced coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is available to all active-duty members, retirees, and all eligible family members, and with this they can select a primary care physician and obtain referrals to health care services that offer specialty care.

By way of TRICARE, members of the military can obtain substance abuse rehabilitation services in Waukegan. This includes individual and group therapy including family therapy, detoxification, and other various substance abuse recovery services. They will need pre-authorization for treatment and there are likely to be some restrictions. Military insurance pays for both outpatient and inpatient, but inpatient services for detox are limited to 7 days. An inpatient or partial hospitalization following detoxification will only be authorized if it is an approved treatment center, and there are time limits as to how long military insurance carriers will be permitted to stay in rehab. A 3-week inpatient stay per benefit period is typically accepted. Additionally, there are 15 family therapy sessions and 60 group therapy sessions covered per benefit period, which take place on an outpatient basis. Family therapy is covered one after the active military member has finished other treatment services such as inpatient or outpatient treatment.
