SAMHSA Certified Opioid Treatment - Drug and Alcohol Treatment Centers - West Liberty, IL.

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department in charge of health efforts to promote the mental health of the United States. One of its duties is the supervision of opioid rehab facilities, which are programs that offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Medicine given are drugs such as buprenorphine, methadone, and other drugs which help withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid addicted individuals. SAMSHA certified opioid treatment facilities in West Liberty are programs which are legally allowed to distribute the medicines used in MAT as long as they remain certified and always maintain the necessary requirements. One of these requirements is that MAT clients must also receive auxiliary benefits in addition to medication such as counseling or behavioral therapy.

An opioid rehab program can receive initial approval documentation while they endeavor to get their full accreditation, but must become fully accredited within a year. Opioid treatment programs accredited by SAMSHA need to get licensed also by their own state. Likewise, they need to list themselves with the Drug Enforcement Administration via a local DEA office. Once an opioid rehabilitation facility is certified, it must be re-certified each year or every 3 years depending on the kind of certification it has been granted.
