The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of efforts to advance the behavioral health of the U.S.. One of its duties is the supervision of opioid rehab programs, which are programs who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Drug given are drugs such as methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which help curb cravings and withdrawal for opioid dependent individuals.
