The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for health efforts to promote the mental health of the nation. One of its responsibilities is the supervision of opioid treatment programs, which are programs which offer medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency.
