The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government department responsible for health efforts to promote the mental health of the United States. One of its obligations is the administering of opioid rehabilitation programs, which are programs that provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to individuals who are experiencing opioid addiction and dependency. Medicine administered are drugs like methadone, buprenorphine and other drugs which stop withdrawal and curb cravings for opioid dependent people.
