Alcohol and drug abuse programs for Vets are central for the mental well-being and overall stability of Vets of all branches of the armed forces. Because alcohol and drug abuse and other mental health disorders are experienced at higher than average rates among Vets, it is important that Veterans get the help they need due to such high suicide rates also associated with these disorders with our Vets.
Drug and alcohol abuse facilities for Veterans in Dresden are available from the VA, with included services such as efforts to handle associated problems such as relationship problems, irritability, disturbed sleep, pain, depression, and/or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) which most commonly trigger addiction disorders among Vets. Rehabilitation for addiction and associated disorders among Vets includes psychotherapies and group and individual therapy which can increase an individual's motivation to change. Involvement in other support such as AA and other support groups is encouraged. Medications are also available in some circumstances to help Military Vets decrease their drug, alcohol and tobacco use.
