The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, "SAMHSA" for short, is the government agency in charge of efforts to advance the behavioral health of the United States. One of its responsibilities is the administering of opioid treatment programs, which are programs who provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to clients who are in the midst of opioid dependency and addiction.
